Graduate Accountant

Adelaide SA Full-Time

Job Description

About Us

We’re a 28-year-old Chartered Accounting and management consulting practice that punches above its weight on tech, advisory work and client service. If you want to combine solid compliance training with exposure to dashboards, data-analytics and cloud solutions, you’ll fit right in.

The Opportunity

As part of our growth pipeline, we’re bringing in a Graduate Accountant to work closely with our Senior Accountants, Client Managers and Directors. You’ll rotate through compliance, management reporting and advisory tasks so you can figure out what excites you most while building a rock-solid technical base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with year end financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

  • Prepare BAS/IAS and keep clients’ bookkeeping and payroll files tidy in Xero

  • Help draft monthly and quarterly management reports

  • Liaise with the ATO, ASIC and external advisers to chase information or resolve queries

  • Support ad-hoc projects - anything from three way forecasts to business valuations

  • Keep our quality-control checklist up to date and suggest process improvements as you spot them

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

  • Recently (or soon to be) completed degree in Accounting or Commerce

  • Eligibility to enrol in the CA program

  • Internship, vacation work or part-time accounting/finance experience

  • Solid Excel and an interest in cloud apps; Xero exposure is a plus but not essential

  • Attention to detail

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • A curious mindset and a willingness to ask “why” as well as “how”
